Making a Difference
Everything we do
is inspired by our vision, mission & values. They guide the way we work as
an organisation and set the expectations of those who work for us and for those
receiving services from us. The common thread is our focus on treating people
as individuals and to support everyone to achieve what matters to them.
Specialising in
providing community-based services our way of working with people ensures that
they are actively involved in what is happening to ensure this ambition is a
reality. Things are not simply done for people but are done with them, we call
this Active Support. Opportunities and ways for people to express their
preferences and views about aspects of their daily life and unique ways to be
more engaged and make informed choices are explored and encouraged at every
step of the way.
Through our
outcome-focused approach to support planning, review and delivery, we aim to
enable all our clients to be as active an independent as possible and to reach
their potential. For example, approaches to enable independent living,
participating in education and vocational employment or building relationships
and social networks to promote their wellbeing and resilience and presence in
their community.
Inclusive Care
Support genuinely believe if people are engaged in meaningful things, have
interesting lives, good social relationships and are empowered to develop the
skills to help them get what they need they are less likely to display
behaviours that make life difficult for them and others.
We feel that it is
vital that the young people and adults we support to prepared for adult life
and/or for a greater level of independence, are supported by adequately
qualified and experienced and trained staff, that the environment appropriate
for fulfilment and there are measures in place to ensure everyone has
opportunities for continuous development.
